| The Scottish Border town of Hawick, some 10 miles from Jedburgh and roughly the same distance from Selkirk, boasted two greyhound tracks in the past. The earliest to open was on Target Hill, but a later one was built on Albert Park and situated at 2° 45' W 55° 25' N. The town is more famous for its rugby union club and the greyhound track was developed on land adjacent to the rugby pitches. The inaugural meeting was held in 1990, with sprint races held over 270 yards, standard races run over 450 yards and distance races run over 630 yards. |
